We absolutely love coming here! Staff is very friendly, sushi rolls are great, and the cost is amazing. We try to go every 2-3 weeks. To anyone complaining about the wait: good sushi is not premade and waiting for you to order. It takes time to prep and it's made to order, you can literally see it's one man prepping the sushi most of the time. They were also training new waitresses in the last month. If you want something ready in under 5 minutes, grab it from Harris teeter or a gas station.
Japan Tokyo is ALWAYS delicious!! The food is hot and tasty. They have a variety of dishes to order. Today I ordered Hibachi chicken & shrimp, and my friend ordered edamame, Tuna Tarte sushi and Tempura Shrimp. I also love their Crab Salad, Avocado Salad and Crab Sushi. Also, the staff is attentive and sooo nice. We LOVE this place!! Highly recommend.
My husband and I love the sushi here. We get the love boat for 2 each time we come and have never been disappointed. Staff is always very hospitable. Sanitation grade from November 2018 is 90% which made me a little nervous but restaurant always appears clean and food quality exceptional in my experience. I feel confident that their grade will improve at next sanitation visit.
I always sit at the bar on fridays and let me tell you. It’s always a great time. The staff is so nice and the food tastes amazing. This the the only thing that I look forward to do on Fridays. Side of hibachi chicken is amazing, specially with the white sauce and the sake. EC pirates and the sexy girl dishes is also pretty good , I would highly recommend it. Won’t disappoint

Excellent food at good prices. The menu was a bit overwhelming with so many choices. The staff was kind enough to answer several questions and went to the back to ask if they didn't know either. The sushi that we did order was amazing and we will be returning soon
This is my go to place for Japanese cuisine. Yes, they do have good day and bad day with the quality of the ingredients but that’s with every japanese places in Greenville. I love coming here for their appetizers that other restaurants don’t offer like gyoza and takoyaki etc. Their sushi and sashimi are good too, similar to other places so each individual’s palette will be a factor saying it’s good or not but overall I would recommend this place.
